I’m not familiar with most of the Grimm Brother’s fairy tales, so before I read this one, I read their version of The Blue Light in order to appreciate how A. Violet End altered the original.
I find the concept of taking centuries old tales and turning them into short erotic reads to be very interesting. At times, as an adult these simply stories need to be spiced up. I think that’s a goal of the Grimm & Dirty Fairy Tales. What the author did was take the tale of a wronged, once loyal, solider getting his revenge and threw in something the adults will like…sex.
This was a fun interpretation of The Blue Light, but I feel that even though the original ending was abrupt and a little boring, that the ending of this version was too much. I felt that the ending was trying to be too provocative compared to the rest of the story, which went by quiet well. I felt that elements of the ending didn’t fit with the rest of the story. Yet, this was still a good read, and I’m looking forward to seeing what else A. Violet End has done in her Grimm & Dirty Fairy Tales.
